The chief executive of China’s online retailer JD.com, Liu Qiangdong, was briefly detained in the US for criminal sexual conduct.

Liu, one of China’s richest people, was arrested in Minneapolis shortly before midnight and released the following afternoon.

JD.com said he was falsely accused.

The police said the investigation was still open and they could not release further information.

Monica Lewinski walked out of an interview in Israel after being asked about her relationship with former President Bill Clinton.

She explained on twitter that she left because she had already stated that the topic was “off limits”.

The Israeli news outlet said afterwards that it respected her “sensitivity”.

Ms Lewinski had been giving a speech in Jerusalem on the “perils and positives” of the internet and social media.

Alexandra Waterbury, a 19 year old ballerina, is suing the New York City Ballet and a former principal dancer for sexually exploiting female dancers.

Ms Waterbury alleges that Chase Finlay, who is also her ex-boyfriend, shared sexually explicit photos and videos (taken without her knowledge) and inappropriate texts with other dancers and asked them to do the same.

She also claims that a “fraternity-like atmosphere” allows male dancers “to do whatever they wanted to women, whenever they wanted to do so” as long as it happened in NYC “where it could be controlled by executives and management”.

The ballet company stated it “vehemently denies the allegations that the company has condoned, encouraged, or fostered the kind of activity Mr Finlay and the others named have participated in.”

Finlay’s lawyer said that Ms Waterbury’s “complaint is nothing more than a mass of allegations that ought not to be taken as fact.

Alexandra said that the #metoo movement helped her find the courage to speak up.

A scene has been cut from The Predator after Olivia Munn discovered that she had been acting opposite a registered sex offender.

Steven Wilder Striegel has known director Shane Black for 14 years and Black said by giving Striegel a part he was “trying to help a friend” but Ms Munn tweeted: “those who know about abuse and not only do nothing but continue to put abusers in positions of power are complicit.”

Fox said: “Our studio was not aware of Mr Striegel’s background when he was hired…when the studio learned the details his scene in the film was removed within 24 hours.
