Michael Douglas
Michael Douglas has issued a pre-emptive denial of sexual misconduct allegations saying he wanted to “get ahead” of a potential story being investigated.

He denied having masturbated in front of a woman who worked for him 32 years ago: “this is a complete lie, fabrication, no truth to it whatsoever.”

James Franco
James Franco has been accused of sexual misconduct by five women including four students from his acting school.

The allegations come after his “best actor” win at the Golden Globes during which he wore a Time’s Up pin.

Franco’s attorney told the LA Times that he denies participating in an “abuse of power” on film sets designed to create a “culture of exploiting non-celebrity women”.

Bella Thorne
Actress Bella Thorne has said she suffered repeated sexual and physical abuse as she was growing up.

In December she said she had been molested but this week she said it carried on until she was fourteen “when I finally had the courage to lock my door at night and sit by it.”

At the end of her Instagram post she used the hashtag Time’s Up.

She has not named her abuser.

Trump's attorney, Michael Cohen
Trump’s attorney, Michael Cohen, has denied that Trump had a sexual encounter with porn star Stephanie Clifford.

The Wall Street Journal also alleged that Cohen helped facilitate a payment of $130,000 to Ms Clifford in exchange for her silence.

Cohen said Trump “vehemently denies” the encounter but did not address the alleged payment in an interview with CNN.

Oprah
Sunday’s Golden Globes was the first important awards show held since the #metoo movement began last autumn.

Celebrities wore black to show support for the anti-sexual harassment initiative Time’s Up.

Many of them also wore the official Time’s Up pin.

Oprah received a lifetime achievement award and gave an emotional speech: “A new day is on the horizon. For too long, women have not been heard or believed if they dared to speak their truth to the power of those men.”
