Simone Biles
Olympic gymnast Simone Biles has become the first woman to win five US Women’s Gymnastics Championships all-around titles.

During her most recent competition she wore a teal (the designated color for survivors of sexual abuse) leotard she designed herself to show support for survivors who were also sexually abused by former team doctor Larry Nassar.

Simone said: “It is for the survivors. I stand with all of them and I think it’s kind of special to unite.”

Former Playboy model Christina Carlin-Kraft was found strangled in her apartment in Philadelphia’s suburbs.

Police had been investigating a burglary at her home, had recovered some of her stolen goods and found her body when they returned them.

Surveillance footage showed a male suspect at her apartment on both the night of the burglary and the day her body was found.

Cristhian Bahena Rivera, an undocumented immigrant who is in the US illegally, has been charged with the murder of missing student Mollie Tibbetts.

Mollie’s remains were found in a cornfield when Rivera led the police to her.

She had been missing since 18th July.

The post mortem revealed that Mollie died as a result of “multiple sharp force injuries.”

Zainab Merchant, the Muslim woman behind the website Zainab Rights, has a history of being stopped by TSA officers during airport screening.

On this occasion she was taken to a private room after a pat-down of her groin area made an officer decide she needed to take “a deeper look”.

Ms Merchant explained she was on her period and wearing a pad which was probably what the officer had felt.

However she wasn’t believed and was ordered to remove her pants and underwear and show the bloodied pad.

Afterwards she asked for the names and badge numbers of the officers involved so she could file a complaint, however they covered their badges with their hands and walked away.
