Nancy Pelosi has won the nomination for Speaker of the House.

The full House of Representatives will vote for the speaker after Christmas.

Darwin Martinez Torres has pleaded guilty to the rape and murder of 17-year-old Muslim woman Nabra Hassanen.

Torres admitted to all eight counts in a plea deal that will spare him the possibility of the death penalty.

After driving at Ms Hassanen and the group of friends she was with and following them in his car, he jumped out with a baseball bat, attacked Ms Hassanen, pulled her into his car and then dumped her body in a pond.

Torres, who is intellectually disabled with a low IQ, will be sentenced to life in prison.

78-year-old imprisoned murderer Samuel Little is being investigated after confessing to 90 murders across the US.

State and federal agencies are working with the FBI’s Violent Criminal Apprehension Program to match Little’s confessions with the deaths of women in America from 1970 to 2005.

Little is currently serving three consecutive life sentences for the murders of three women.

Before that he already had an extensive criminal record of offenses including rape and armed robbery.

The FBI believe Little may be among the most prolific serial killers in US criminal history.

December 1st was the 30th anniversary of World AIDS Day and this year’s theme was “Know Your Status”.

The objectives set out by WHO advocacy and communication for World AIDS Day 2018 are:

1-Urge people to know their HIV infection status through testing, and to access HIV prevention, treatment and care services.

2-Urge policy-makers to promote a “health for all” agenda for HIV and related health services such as TB, hepatitis and noncommunicable diseases.
