Former police officer Joseph James DeAngelo had been arrested on suspicion of being the Golden State Killer.

It’s alleged that he carried out 12 murders and 51 rapes as well as hundreds of home break-ins across California between 1976 and 1986.

He has made his first court appearance in Sacramento.

Bill Cosby has been found guilty of three counts of sexual assault, each of which carries a potential 10 years in prison.

He was on trial for drugging and sexually assaulting ex-basketball player Andrea Constand in 2004.

His sentencing hearing has not yet been scheduled.

Peter Madsen, the Danish inventor who murdered Swedish journalist Kim Wall, has been sentenced to life in prison without parole.

He was found guilty of pre-meditated murder and sexual assault after previously admitting to dismembering Ms Wall’s body on his submarine and throwing her remains overboard.

Two ex-NFL cheerleaders have offered to settle their gender discrimination lawsuit against the league for just $1.

However there would be a mandate that teams would not be able to fire cheerleaders and would have to keep them for at least five years.

Bailey Davis and Kristan Ware said they want to address concerns about wages and harassment: “This was never about money. This is about having respect for our sport and standing up for women.”

Singer and cookbook author Kelis has spoken about the domestic violence she suffered whilst married to rapper Nas.

She said her five-year marriage was filled with “really intense highs and lows” but was “never normal”.

Kelis also said that it was the 2009 incident of domestic violence against Rihanna (by Chris Brown) that influenced her to leave Nas: “I remember so clearly when the (Rihanna) pictures came out…cause I also had bruises all over my body at that time.”

US news anchor Tom Brokaw has denied claims of sexual misconduct made against him by fellow NBC journalist Linda Vester.

She alleged that Brokaw tried to force her to kiss him on two separate occasions and groped her in an NBC conference room in front of colleagues.

Ms Vester said she did not report it at the time because she was afraid it might hurt her career.

Republic Congressman Patrick Meehan has said he will resign immediately over allegations of sexual harassment.

He has been under pressure to resign since January when the allegations first came out and was to be investigated by the ethics committee.
