Brett Kavanaugh
The FBI investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct against Brett Kavanaugh was criticised for being too narrow and incomplete as key witnesses were not interviewed although many Republican Senators praised it for being “thorough”.

Throughout the duration of the investigation and the vote hundreds of survivors and allies protested at the Supreme Court with an outpouring of love and support for Dr Christine Blasey Ford.

Many took to social media to tell their own stories of surviving sexual assault.

Trump, however, mocked Dr Ford and the gaps in her memory around the assault during a rally in Mississippi.

He accused Democrats of manipulating Dr Ford for political reasons calling them “really evil people” who “want to destroy people”.

He also told reporters: “Its a very scary time for young men in America when you can be guilty of something that you may not be guilty of.”

On Saturday senators voted to confirm Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court by 50 to 48 and he was sworn in shortly afterwards.

During a discussion about Kavanaugh, Kellyanne Conway said that she too was sexually assaulted: “I feel very empathetic, frankly, for victims of sexual assault and sexual harassment and rape. I’m a victim of sexual assault.”

She went on to say Kavanaugh’s nomination shouldn’t be made into a “meeting of the #metoo movement”.

Portuguese footballer Cristian Ronaldo has denied allegations that he raped Kathryn Mayorga in a Las Vegas hotel room in 2009 calling them fake news.

Ms Mayorga filed a rape report with the police shortly after the alleged assault.

In 2010 she reached an out of court settlement with Ronaldo for $375,000 for agreeing never to go public with the allegations.
