Eric Schneiderman
New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman has resigned following allegations of assault and violence by four women, including two ex-girlfriends.

Schneiderman has been a vocal supporter of the #metoo movement and said he “strongly contests” the allegations: “In the privacy of intimate relationships, I have engaged in role-playing and other consensual sexual activity. I have not assaulted anyone. I have never engaged in non-consensual sex, which is a line I would not cross. While these allegations are unrelated to my professional conduct or the operations of the office, they will effectively prevent me from leading the offices work at this critical time.”

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, who had called for Schneiderman’s resignation when the reports were made public, said: “No-one is above the law, including New York’s top legal officer” and he would ask a prosecutor to investigate the allegations.

A woman who has chosen not to disclose her name is suing Chris Brown after claiming she was raped during a party at his house last year.

Her lawyer, Gloria Allred, said that “its one of the most horrific cases” she has seen.

The lawsuit alleges that the woman’s phone was taken from her and she was told if she wanted it back she had to go to the party at Brown’s house, where Brown provided alcohol and illicit drugs and brought out his guns.

The woman was raped by the rapper Lowell Grissom Jr (aka Young Lo) and then sexually assaulted by another woman.

Brown and others are being accused of several allegations including sexual battery, assault and gender violence.

Harvey Weinstein’s estranged wife has given her first interview since the allegations against her husband began.

Georgina Chapman told Vogue that she had no idea what Weinstein was doing and was never suspicious about his behaviour.

She said she had been “so naive” and was “so humiliated and so broken” when the scandal unfolded.

Ms Chapman announced that she was leaving Weinstein days after the allegations emerged.

This week Kelly also gave a performance in which he told the audience he had been asked to perform a low key set but then sang sexually explicit songs and at one point rubbed a fan’s smartphone between his legs.

Joseph James DeAngelo, the so-called Golden State Killer, has been charged with four more murders meaning that all twelve murders have been attributed to him.

A former investigator on the case, Paul Coles, has said he believes DeAngelo may have been motivated by the breakup of a relationship in 1960s, describing him as “an anger retaliatory offender”.

The Pulitzer Prize board will investigate allegations of sexual harassment made against Junot Dìaz by author Zinzi Clemmons.

The organisation has stated that Dìaz has welcomed the independent review and will cooperate fully with it.

More female US authors have since said that Dìaz behaved aggressively towards them and accused him of making misogynistic comments.
